Hi, I really wish the highlighting feature would only change the background of the text selection (like in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat), and not cover the text with an actual layer of slightly opaque colour. I usually like to highlight text with a bright colour to emphasize the part, however with the current feature the highlighting does the opposite- makes the text more difficult to read.

adding the following CSS helps with text and underline highlights, but not box highlights:

.notableAnnotationLayer { mix-blend-mode: darken; }

If you are familiar with CSS you can put that in a custom stylesheet until they implement this feature.

How difficult is that to do? Having highlights where the text is not popping out is really frustrating and almost defeats the whole purpose
