What can be the reason that the highlight of my text disappears when I add some comment to the highlight? The same for strikethrough and underline.

We are aware of this issue, and we are working hard on fixing it.
In the meantime, the best option is to use the Comment Tool, which looks like a chat box.
The Comment Tool will automatically highlight the text, as seen in the screenshot below.
